CHOOSE YOUR OLIVE OIL
VIRGIN EXTRA
To obtain this designation, an extra virgin olive oil must not exceed the acidity level of 0.80% (according to European regulations) in addition to its cold extraction. The acidity of Cuadrat Valley olive oils is up to 10 times lower. In addition, it must meet the following criteria: fruitiness, bitterness and spiciness. When tasted, there must be no defects.
MONOVARIETAL
A single variety oil is made from a single olive variety. The Cuadrat Valley vintages are produced only from the Arbequina olives. It is typical of its terroir: Les Garrigues.
COLD EXTRACTED
The olive paste must be extracted below 27°C. Under such extraction, the olive oil will retain its aromas and nutritional benefits.
PDO
The criteria of the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) illustrates the specificities of a terroir: the place of birth (region), the production, the type of processing and the know-how. For Cuadrat Valley, Les Garrigues PDO - the oldest registered extra virgin olive oil in Spain, issued in 1975 and certified by the European Union in 1996 - is more than just a label.
OPAQUE PACKAGING
To avoid oxidation, olive oil must be stored away from light, heat and oxygen in the air to preserve its benefits and its unique taste.
CUADRAT VALLEY VINTAGES
Our olive oils come from the same variety of olive, the Arbequina, grown in the family olive grove in Cuadrat Valley. All are "Extra Virgin AOP Les Garrigues". The different harvest periods of our olives enable us to provide you with 4 different "cuvées" showing various maturity and fruitiness of oil.
All of these "cuvées" offer the fiery fruitiness of fresh olives, with green aromas of grass and artichoke, alongside subtle notes of fresh almonds and apples. Besides, they contain all the essential nutrients: fatty acids (protection against vascular diseases), aromatic molecules (antioxidants), vitamins A and E.
